Walking Taco Bar

A walking taco baris a great option for tailgating, watch parties, family gatherings or even graduation parties. For the taco meat, you can use prepared taco seasoning or make your own from spices in your pantry using our taco seasoning recipe (one recipe portion for each pound.)

The meat and queso can be served in preheated crockpots, which will retain heat even if you don’t have access to power at your event. You can plug in your crockpot using an AC adapter, so it will be warmed by the time you arrive for your tailgate. Don’t forget to pack your serving utensils if you are traveling for a game.

What you need for your walking taco bar:

10 pounds ground beef, browned and seasoned with taco seasoning

1 (40 or 50 count) box of each of individual bags of Fritos and Doritos

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Taco meat and queso may be kept warm in a hot crockpot. I use a triple crockpot with two filled with meat and one filled with queso.
  2. The remaining ingredients should be arranged on a table.
  3. Be mindful of keeping sour cream and guacamole chilled by arranging in a container filled with ice.
