My BBQ baked bean are based on my grandmother’s recipe she always made for my grandfather’s family reunion always held on he third Sunday of July. While my grandmother usually made her baked beans from scratch, my mom used canned baked beans to make “souped up” or enhanced flavor baked bean dish more similar to her mother’s. Using canned baked beans will speed up the process of making this dish for your summer gatherings, such as a picnic, BBQ or family reunion.
Once beans are baked in a stoneware dish, it is best to transport them to your destination using a paper lined cardboard box to allow them to be transported in a vehicle while keeping the dish hot and not damaging the vehicle’s interior.
