Passion Tea Rosemary Pear Mocktail

Abstaining from alcohol doesn’t have to be without flavor or enjoyment.  A variety of flavored apple ciders are available, as well as a many recipes which can be made at home with simple syrups, flavored with any combination of herbs, fruit or dried flowers. The options for flavorful mocktails are endless. Over the next two weeks, we will be exploring several options for a flavorful January!

Dry January, as the month long abstinence from alcohol is called, is touted to have many health benefits, including improved sleep       quality, lowered blood pressure, improved skin health, possible weight loss, as well as increased mental clarity.

The month of alcohol abstinence is a time for a “re-set” of alcohol consumption. For those who have been concerned about their alcohol consumption, a period of sobriety can help as first step toward habits of reduced overall alcohol use.

Passion Tea Rosemary Pear Mocktail

This is a fragrant and refreshing drink that’s perfect for dry January.

Ingredients

Passion Tea
Rosemary Pear Simple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Fill rocks glass with crushed ice. Pour passion tea over ice. Pour rosemary pear simple syrup. Stir and garnish with rosemary sprig.

  1. Steep tea bag in hot water for 5 minutes. Allow tea to cool.
Rosemary Pear Simple Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, add water, sugar, pear and rosemary. Bring to simmer. Remove from heat, cool and strain into a measuring cup through a sieve. Discard pears and rosemary. Allow syrup to cool. Store into an airtight container and refrigerate.
